I recently attended a work retreat with my peers and leaders, sharing knowledge, team building and engaging in open discussions on improving our brand, bringing value and making a difference.  I was reminded at how fortunate I am to be a part of this extraordinary group.  The trip was such an enriching experience and reignited the pride I feel in knowing that I represent an organization that has such purpose and substance, especially with  recent events involving terror and lost lives.  I personally witnessed the terrible tragedy on 9/11 in 2001.  I was a resident of New York City for several years.  In the weeks that followed, I attended the vigils and memorials for those that perished on that horrible day.  In that moment, I vowed to make a difference in some way and help prevent further attacks from ever happening again.  In my profession and the industry I support, what we do every day impacts the safety of our country and our allies.  With every day that passes, I feel blessed that our family is kept safe due to the endless efforts of each individual who plays a role in my organization.  Thank you for all that you do.
